Terra Viva is one of the 180 dairy farms that provide milk to the Fábrica de Quesos Monteverde.  

We milk our 35 cows twice a day and obtain an average of 400 Kg. per day.

Our farm is the first one moving towards an organic production in this area.  There are 3 major areas we are currently working  to reach this goal:

1.  Stop using pesticides and herbicides               

2.  Stop using antibiotics, instead homeopathy

3.  Make our own organic fertilizer from manure and the help of thousands of red earthworms

We also make methane gas from manure

We offer guided experiences to learn all about how to make cheese

Our visitors are kindly invited to join in the process of herding and milking the cows,

feed calves with baby bottles,

 make cheese and feed the pigs with the whey left from the cheese making
